Porcelain Veneers San Francisco

Porcelain veneers are thin shells of porcelain that cover the front surface of the teeth to improve smile aesthetics.  They are bonded to the teeth and can change the teeth’s:

  • Color
  • Size
  • Shape
  • Length

Patients choose porcelain veneers and cosmetic dentistry for a variety of reasons.  For some, the teeth might be excessively discolored to a point beyond natural repair.  Others might have teeth that are worn, chipped, or broken.  The teeth may be misaligned, irregularly shaped, have gaps, or be uneven resulting in a smile that is less than perfect.

Porcelain veneers can transform all of these smile issues, and with San Francisco Dentist Dr. Mohamed Ali’s technical and skillful precision, dental veneers can look beautiful and natural for patients.  In addition, patients choose porcelain veneers and Dr. Ali for the quality holistic care and metal-free dentistry.  Our focus is on patient health, wellness, and beautiful smiles, which we make possible with our dental techniques and commitment to patient care.

The Porcelain Veneer Process

During an initial consultation, San Francisco Dentist Dr. Mohamed Ali will consult with you to understand the result that you would like.  Dr. Ali will examine your teeth to ensure that porcelain veneers are the right fit for you.  Molds and impressions will be made from your teeth to send to the dental laboratory.  The lab will create the porcelain veneers for all of the teeth that require cosmetic enhancement.    Approximately ½ millimeter of tooth enamel is removed from the teeth to make room for the veneer, making the procedure permanent.

After about two weeks, the porcelain veneers will be ready and arrive at San Francisco Dentist Dr. Ali’s office.  Each tooth that receives a porcelain veneer is cleaned, polished, and etched to allow the veneer to establish a strong bond.  The veneer is bonded into place with special dental cement, causing it to bond into place quickly.  Dentist Dr. Mohamed Ali removes excess cement and ensures that your bite is correct and that the veneer looks natural.

At the end of this appointment, patients will leave with a smile transformation.  Chips, cracks, gaps, and stains in teeth are gone, and all that remains is a beautiful smile.
